Product Description
Punching Shear Resistance Studs (PSR) are large headed punching shear connectors that are welded to flat steel bars (creating stud rails) and are used as punching shear reinforcement in flat concrete slabs to replace abutment stirrups and column capitals and resist punching stress in the slabs. Uprights of predetermined length and diameter, as per design specifications in accordance with IBC and UBC structural steel welding standards, are used to extend the perimeter of the column in the floor slab or foundation slab. This reduces the amount of rebar required in an area and column congestion, resulting in easier and faster installation and lower cost. By using these punching resistance beams, the punching capacity at the base of the concrete columns is increased, resulting in a significant reduction in slab thickness. This results in substantial savings in labour and material costs.
